WHAT IS HMUN?

Harvard Model UN India is an initiative which converges the future generations from across the world in this very country whose success will be crucial for everyone, especially to all those who believe in Democratic Principles, Human Rights and Free & Fair Trade. There are very few places on this planet where the interplay between paradoxes presents itself as a perfect backdrop for an animated, argumentative conference by young people with an agenda to discuss, deliberate and solve some of the pressing issues affecting the World TodayHMUN India 2013 surpassed the level of interaction from the previous years, bringing together more than 1300 high school students from over 130 schools across 28 cities and towns in India and over 8 countries worldwide. The conference was graced with the presence of eminent personalities like Dr. Rajendra Pachauri - the chairperson to the Nobel Laureate UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, who delivered the Opening key address. Ms. Binalakshmi Nepram - co-founder of Control Arms Foundation India and Manipur Women Gun Survivors Network, Ms. Suhasini Haidar - Foreign Affairs Editor, CNN-IBN, Mr. Basant Dhawan - GM, Media - Vodafone India, Mr. Gerry Martin, herpetologist, wildlife researcher and founder 'The Gerry MartinProject' and Mr. Birad Rajaram Yajnik, fine print author, and entrepreneur who created the 'Ahimsa Harley' at HMUN India 2012, participated in the 'HMUN India Speaker Series'.HMUN 2014 will set the bar higher by bringing together delegates from premier institutions around the world. The fourth session of this conference will be marked by the presence of thought leaders from across industries and will provide platforms for delegates and faculty advisors to interact with these leaders and other revered speakers. The conference will have high quality social events and activities for the delegates and advisors which will provide a conference experience like never before.
